Testimonies such as Fredick Douglas’s shed light on how harsh and appalling the circumstances were, but no words could even come close to the pain these individuals faced. The breeding capabilities of the slaves had them selling points, especially in the south where the big plantations were, and more help was acquired. Often times, master’s would go as far as to breed women specifically based off their physical attributes and what that might have to offer in the form of offspring. The sexual abuse was ramped, and no words can truthfully explain the events that are hard realize actually took place.
